[UPDATE: This site was active in Spring 2005. I can now be found at RonenV.com]
In College, a friend had an assignment to film a beer commercial (as such is the state of American education) and she called upon me to assist.
While waiting for everyone to show up, Zach and I conceived and filmed this:
Which I like better than the planned spot…

Ronen’s conversation with filmmaker David Cronenberg about A History of Violence
WARNING: History of Violence Spoilers
A ‘bare’ year-old conversation between Michael Chiert and me. Videoed one morning as we drove to the park where we would shoot treemonkey.
Got together with mike again today, and we did a cinemaontherun.
Cinema On The Run is an experiment; a game.
The challenge: ad-lib a movie, shot for shot, using only whatever supplies and cast are on-hand.
No cheating.
We have a backlog of these to upload, but here’s a recent example of cinemaontherun, ‘TreeMonkey,’ filmed today. From its conception to its completion, the whole process lasted about 15 minutes (which is perhaps clear from viewing it, but that’s another story.)
More material will be forthcoming as we work on the site, but in the meantime enjoy the film.
